African drug policy database now online
For the past few years, Mainline has been a partner in the Love Alliance programme. One of our key activities was to design a database with relevant information on drug use, harm reduction and drug policy in all of the 10 Love Alliance countries. We are happy to announce that the updated database is now online.
The Love Alliance programme brings together groups and organisations of people who use drugs, sex workers and queer communities from the 10 target countries of the programme: Burkina Faso, Burundi, Egypt, Kenya, Morocco, Mozambique, Nigeria, South Africa, Uganda, and Zimbabwe.
The database combines and presents existing data on issues related to drug policy and harm reduction in the different countries. For example, you can read about the availability of healthcare services in prison settings, which peer groups are active in each country, and about how media report on drug issues.
In addition to the database, Mainline also developed two e-courses: one on harm reduction and one on implementing community-led assessments. These are available in our online Harm Reduction School.
