Gear up with these (mostly) free courses over the Christmas holidays!
December is a time to slow down and catch up. And we have just the right thing for you! Check out our (free) online courses, all developed by, or with help from Mainline.
#1: IDPC e-course on Drug Decriminalisation
Lead by the International Drug Policy Consortium IDPC, and in collaboration with Frontline AIDS and Health[e]Foundation, Mainline developed a Drug Decriminalisation e-course. It’s a free-to-access, self-paced course that helps you to better understand what decriminalisation is, how to advocate for it, and how to design a “Gold Standard” model that benefits the health, wellbeing and human rights of people who use drugs. The course is a must for anyone interested in expanding their technical knowledge on decriminalisation of the use and possession of drugs.
You’ll find it here.
#2: Mainline’s Harm Reduction School
In our own Harm reduction school, you can take a range of online courses in different languages, including Kiswahili, Dutch, Spanish, Portuguese, Ukrainian, Russian, Tamil, Sinhala and Burmese.
Learn more about harm reduction, chemsex, mental health and much more!

#3: SKPA-2 Chemsex Training Package
Our fourth Christmas goodie is the Chemsex and Harm Reduction Training Package developed by the Sustainability of HIV Services for Key Populations in Asia (SKPA-2) programme, with support from APCOM and Mainline.
The package brings together a comprehensive set of practical tools: a guide for trainers, a companion facilitation guide, a set of accompanying training slides, and the Mainline chemsex and harm reduction e-course. Together, these resources provide a flexible, evidence-informed suite that can be adapted for different country contexts in Asia and beyond, and used in workshops, training of trainers, and community-based learning sessions.
You’ll find the course here.
#4: The first Kenyan e-learning hub on Harm Reduction
The Kenyan Muslim Education Welfare Association (MEWA) and Mainline jointly developed three online courses, on sexualised drug use, harm reduction and cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT). While those courses require a small registration fee for MEWA, they are an important tool for communities, workers and government reps in Kenya and East Africa, more so once they’ll be available in Kiswahili (soon!).
Check it out here.
#5: AHRA Learning and Resource Hub
The Southeast Asia Harm Reduction Association (AHRA) Learning and Resource Hub is a centralised digital knowledge platform dedicated to strengthening harm reduction initiatives across Southeast Asia.
Access it here.
