Independent healing

Embarking on an independent psychedelic journey with the intention of healing or self-discovery can be a deeply transformative experience. However, it’s crucial to approach such journeys with caution and mindfulness. Psychedelics are potent and can be unpredictable.

Please do not take psychedelics by yourself if you’re suffering from severe mental health challenges!

Tips for independent healing context
  • Check in with yourself: Before embarking on your journey check in with yourself. Only proceed when you feel well rested, relaxed and reasonably stable. If you’re not, it might not be the right moment to take psychedelics.
  • Set Clear Intentions: Before diving into a psychedelic experience, take the time to reflect on what you hope to achieve and what aspects of yourself you wish to explore or heal. Setting clear intentions can guide your journey and enhance its benefits.
  • Create a Safe Environment: Ensure that you are in a safe and comfortable setting free from distractions and potential sources of stress. Pay attention to factors like lighting, temperature, and privacy to create a conducive space for introspection.
  • Start with a Low Dose: If you are new to psychedelics or unfamiliar with the substance you are using, begin with a low dose to gauge its effects on your mind and body. Gradually increase the dose as needed, taking note of your tolerance and sensitivity.
  • Practice Self-Care: Prioritize self-care before, during, and after your psychedelic journey. Stay hydrated, nourish your body with healthy foods, and engage in activities that promote relaxation and well-being.
  • Have a Support Person: It’s advisable to have a trusted friend or sitter present during your journey to provide support and assistance if needed. This person can help ensure your safety and well-being throughout the experience.
  • Reflect and Integrate: After the psychedelic journey, take time to reflect on your experience and integrate any insights gained into your daily life. Journaling, meditation, and therapy can be valuable tools for processing and integrating the lessons learned.
  • Seek Professional Help if Needed: If you encounter challenging emotions or experiences during your journey, don’t hesitate to seek professional help from a therapist or counselor. They can provide support and guidance in navigating difficult emotions and integrating the experience.
