Mainline will soon be closing

Despite widespread appreciation for our work, we have seen first our
international funding, and more recently also our domestic funding drying up.
The decision by the Dutch Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport to terminate its
subsidy for Mainline, was what ultimately tipped the balance.

Over the coming months, we will be phasing out our activities one by one; our
outreach work, our chemsex-conversation evenings, our famous Mainline
magazine, our training activities, and our (international) research, policy
influencing and advisory work.

Over the past 36 years, Mainline has worked in the Netherlands and abroad to
support people who are on the margins of society and use drugs, always actively
promoting the harm reduction approach. We are proud of our contributions and
look back with great pleasure on all the inspiring collaborations we have had at
home and abroad.

Now, we want to thank everyone for your valuable cooperation, often spanning
many years. If you are working in harm reduction, we hope you keep up the good
work, because we believe that this work is more needed now than ever.
Sadly, we will be saying goodbye to our invaluable employees over the coming
months. Our office will remain open at least until the end of May.
